thank you for checking out virtual wine cellar! the enclosed version is fully functional, but limited to 30 entries. after that, you must pay the shareware fee of us$ 20.00. to register, simply double-click the enclosed 'register' application and check out the 'how to register' document for more details. once your payment is received you will be sent the password that lets you bypass the entry limitation and personalize your copy. in addition, it will entitle you to free upgrades of future versions of virtual wine cellar. free updates will be sent per e-mail only. important: keep all related files in the same folder and do not change the file names, otherwise you will receive errors, or virtual wine cellar will not run correctly!
legal stuff: permission is granted for unregistered copies to be uploaded to any on-line service, and distributed in any way, provided that this notice and all other items of the package remain intact. once you register your copy, you are allowed to make personal backup copies of virtual wine cellar to avoid loss of data. however, you may not distribute registered copies.

system requirements: to run virtual wine cellar, you need a macintosh compatible computer and a copy of filemaker pro 3.0 or later from claris corporation. because virtual wine cellar doesn’t display overly fancy screen layouts, it will run smoothly on borderline performance systems (e.g. mac ii series) for small to medium wine collections. in addition, all screens comfortably fit on small monitors, such as those of early powerbook models. a color screen is recommended, but not necessary.

• new performance meter screen compares your wine collection graphically.
• maturity - you can now enter maturity as a 4 digit year number instead of a complete date. if you have entered maturity as a date in a previous version of virtual wine cellar, you can convert your old records to the new format by choosing 'convert maturity' from the script menu. important: be sure to convert your old records, otherwise virtual wine cellar will not be able to remind you! new formats will not be affected by this operation.
• print all topics - this command in the on-line help screens is now supported. it will print out a table of contents along with the documentation. you may wish to print a copy to learn more about previous and new functions virtual wine cellar.
